Some walls are decorated. Others are earned. Leo Martelli designs the catalogue for the second kind.
Every work starts with an image that has to hold a room on its own: a figure at the edge of a city, a jet on a wet runway, a neon line in an empty garage. Then comes one sentence, set small, in the image itself. It is never a slogan from a poster shop. It is the thing someone says to themselves at two in the morning and would never say out loud.
The studio keeps the rules short. One image, one sentence. Quiet frames. An edition of 250 for every work, never extended. No countdowns, no "last chance". The catalogue grows slowly, and a work joins it only when it can stand next to the others without explaining itself.
The works are printed on gallery-grade matte paper (200 gsm), framed in wood with plexiglass and sent ready to hang. Each order takes the next number in that work's edition.
Leo Martelli designs the catalogue. The studio is registered in England as Leo Martelli Ltd.
